INTRODUCING DDE:

Posted by xplicitlyricist - February 11th, 2008

Down N Dirty entertainment (founded less than two weeks ago by P-Balla and Xplicit) is the newest upcoming independent hip-hop label. And not just for NewGrounds, we are on the rise to bigger things, but before i go into detail about the reason and job behind this label, here are the members.
We are no longer looking for rappers, or producers.

DOWN N DIRTY ENT. (DDE):

P-Balla a.k.a PopRock (Rapper/producer, management)
Xplicit (Rapper/producer, management)
MseeMercury (Rapper)
J-Kellz (Rapper)
KillBill a.k.a Dj Nitemare (Rapper)
Zajed (Producer)
Caliber (Producer/rapper)
NEWEST EDITION: Naysly (Rapper)
and of course (temporarily unavailable) WyteNoiz (Producer)

As you can see the line up for us insane, and you can all look forward to new projects from all of us. Down N Dirty - from the AUS to the USA - Redefining the genre.
We are basically an independent label, that means P-Balla and myself have signed the people you see above, and we all have a commitment to making music and lyrics for each other, helping each other out with contacts. And the best part, if any songs are sold whoever is involved get royalties and credit. It's not a big time label with distribution, but it's on its way.

Keep an eye out for our stuff, it hopefully won't be long before our songs are being sold and listened outside of NG, so make the most of it. The songs that will be sold, will be taken off of NG and the ones that won't or selected preview ones will stay on.

yeah this is going to be big

Yes it will.
P-Balla and I are working on distribution and sales.
We need all of the artists signed to start working on solo albums (just one for now)
Using beats from WyteNoiz, Zajed or Caliber, and noone else as they are the signed producers. And no repurcussions can come if the songs are sold.
So start ya work man. A solo album from each of you, and P-Balla and I are working on our mixtapes and our solo stuff now.
Soon we will have a franchise :)

man i got a website in production righht now for DDE. songs are gon b sold there for sure, and thru myspace n shit like that. this aint an NG exclusive label my dudes, this is somethn for real. believe dat!~

Sounds good. I am writing up the contracts, to cover sales, copyrights and our entitlements as the label owners, and their entitlements as the artists.
Speak soon.

ayo xplicit, they can use beats from other producers as long as they hav purchased exclusive rights off the producers. then it wont matter because DDE will have all the rights and there will be no problems. but for any of that, it needs to go thru management (which is myself or xt) first. the artists must purchase the rights to the beats (from outside producers), but DDE must own the rights as a company, and there will be a conract form to sign for that too, so there are no legal disputes.

!!Pop Rock!!-!!DDE!!

This is a good idea, just don't get too ahead of yourselves. Work on your lyrics, your beats, your styles, your flows and make this about the music, not about "we're gonna be big!" and "we're going to redefine the genre!"

Not hating on you guys, you know I have nothing but love, but I also know from my experience with writing novels that you should always 'keep it real' (as the expression goes) and make it about your work, not the fame or the success.

DDE, for the music. All right?

Stay true.
Cya round.

Damn straight dice.
It's always about the music. High hopes can hurt, we know, but with the plans we have, and the people a few of us know, a lil bit of enthusiasm for makin it big doesn't hurt.
I'm happy either way.
'Keep it real'.

ayy dice, every industry in this world is all about money. dont forget that were living in a world that revolves around money. 50 even admitted that he was never into hip hop for the music, he came in for the business (not that i respect that tho). its a businessmans world out there, thats the cold truth. but yea, ofcourse were gonna stay true to the music. but u will never gain success without thinkin about money. ill always put the music first, but i havto always b thinkin bout how i can make money thru that. or else i'll never be successful. its the sad, but true fact. and it goes for everybody.

were not gettin ahead of ourselves mate, were simply dreaming, and following the path we paved thru our dreams as best as we can. and so are the artists under the label. and as xplicit said, enthusiasm cant hurt.

to wrap all that up, ill always put the music first, but i will never neglect the financial side of this music industry. its the only way u can survive out there.

keep it real (as you all know i always say) Dice!~
